Emsworth Arts Trail and longest-serving volunteer turns 90!

This week has been the lead up to the Arts Trail at Tuppenny Barn, culminating in over 300 people coming through our doors this weekend to view the wonderful work by our 6 artists. We are also open all next weekend, including the Bank Holiday, as the last opportunity to view their work. Following on from the Trail, we will be featuring Sandra Izzard, an artist from Swindon, who will be having a solo exhibition for a month with a theme of ‘Fragrants of the Landscape’.

On Thursday, we took the opportunity to celebrate the 90th birthday of my mother, Avril, our longest serving volunteer. She has given much support to the Project since its inception 12 years ago and has continued to assist Christine in the shop on Thursdays. She continues to be a much valued member of the Tuppenny Team.

This week, I am getting ready for my Saturday GYO workshop and am really looking forward to teaching a skill that I hope gives the attendees as much enthusiasm as it has done for me in the past 12 years. In the summer, I hope to be running a workshop about growing edible flowers and specialist salad leaves.
