Glorious Rain, Romeo & Juliet come to Tuppenny Barn, and upcoming events

Thankfully, we have had some rain over the past 48 hours, so needed for the crops as the watering has been relentless. I see we have more high temperatures at the end of the week so will make the most of this cooler period.

On Friday evening, we had a wonderful Romeo and Juliet performance from The HandleBards and we were lucky in that the sun came out after 2 hours of rain, just before the performance was due to begin. It is great to be able to facilitate a live Shakespeare performance. They are already requesting dates to come back next year so I think they enjoy performing at Tuppenny Barn.

In August and early September, we will be turning our weekend efforts to wedding receptions as we have 4 all on consecutive weekends. Our next workshop features Christine, our lovely shop manager, who will be taking you on a foraging trip around Tuppenny Barn and then will have the opportunity to make some elderberry rob and also some bramble vinegar. Sue Gilson’s popular free exchange clothing rail is back at Tuppenny Barn on Fridays through August, from 9am. Bring a preloved item or two to swap with clothing on the newly replenished rail, all for free. It’s a great way of recycling good clothes and you never know what you might find. There will also be a pop up cafe in the morning when she is there.
