Wreaths workshop and upcoming Christmas market

On Saturday, Tuppenny Barn looked a bit like a florist arena with lots of lovely foliage, berries and similar seasonal adornments all ready for the Christmas wreath workshop I ran with Rosie. We had 16 students who all produced beautiful wreaths, all very different and unique. It is always lovely to see individuals create their own pieces, particularly those who perhaps thought they didn’t have the confidence when starting. We will be selling made up wreaths from this week in the shop and also the willow rings if you wanted to have a go yourself. A big thanks to those of you who donated materials for the workshop, all much appreciated.

This time of year, although so hectic and very full on, it is a favourite period for me as we get to be creative in lots of different ways. This is very much what Tuppenny Barn is all about and now so many of our lovely staff and volunteers have shown us they have so many artistic skills that we are beginning to see. On this theme we hope to do a Tuppenny Barn ‘Upcraft’ event next year involving the creative personalities within our TB community, more later next year.
Emma is now flat out in the last minute preparations for Sunday’s annual Tuppenny Barn Christmas market. She has managed to get more than 21 different businesses to participate, a record for us. With generous support form Southern Co-op, we are able to have an outdoor marquee supplied by Lewis Marquees of Emsworth to house many of the stall holders. Marion and Jane will be heading up the Christmas pop up cafe and will have delicious homemade soup (organic of course), mulled apple juice and a selection of cake delights for all to sample.  The Tuppenny Barn stall will have lots of our lovely jams, chutney, fruit vinegars and hopefully marmalades as the sevilles are being delivered this week. We will also be selling our popular willow stars, wreaths and bags of Antonio’s summer herbs. There is also an opportunity to buy Tuppenny Barn gift baskets filled with our different products. Finally, Claire from Music@theBarn will be having a table to sell tickets for the great New Year’s Eve Party she has worked hard on putting together. It looks like it will be a fun packed evening with great music, food and entertainment.
