Emma’s Farewell, Environment Award Nominee, Artist Kerry Vaughan

We are having quite a late ‘Indian Summer’ from the temperatures we have had this week. This has meant that we can still have our lunch outdoors and enjoy the autumnal sunshine.

This Thursday, we had a farewell event for Emma twinned with celebrating the arrival of Antonio’s twin great grand sons (Antonio is the longest serving member of my staff and is 77 years young). Our new Centre Manager starts on Tuesday so those that collect from the shop will have an opportunity to meet her.

As mentioned last week, we were delighted to be nominated as a finalist in the Groundworks UK Sustainability within the Environment award. We didn’t win, however, Abi and Lindsey travelled to London to be present at the Haymarket Hotel representing Tuppenny Barn and had a wonderful evening by all accounts and listening to lots of inspirational stories from those that work with their local communities.

Carla is running her “Making porcelain Christmas decoration workshop” on Friday 24th November at 7pm. There is a glass of fizz supplied to help you along! We have a few spaces left so do book via the website or email us if you want to come along. Workshops with Carla are always great fun.

You will have noticed that our latest artist Kerry Vaughan has her work displayed on our walls. Kerry is a member of the Chichester Art Society, and the Association of Sussex Artists, exhibiting with both of them and the Southern Nature Art Exhibition. She is running a workshop on Wednesday 22nd Nov at Tuppenny Barn on how to use pastel pencils to complete a beautiful tiger portrait.
