A half day course especially for care homes.

• Do you struggle to encourage your residents to go outside, even on nice days? • Are you using your garden less often than you would like? • Are you thinking about making changes to your garden? • Have you invested in your garden and want to know why your residents are not using it as much as you thought they would?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, then this course is for you. It is aimed at staff at all levels in residential care settings, including dementia care homes, who want to help their residents engage with the outdoors more.

The half day courses will be delivered by Debbie Carroll and Mark Rendell, garden designers and researchers and will include: • The findings from their recent large scale UK research into what makes a care home garden more actively used, • A summary of the Top 10 findings for the care sector • Tips and ideas on how to use what you already have, more successfully and more actively • A handy Checklist to help you make successful and cost effective changes to your outside space • Advice on how and when to invest in the services of outside specialists, including garden designers.
