Melrose Quartet, a true all-round folk act with tight acapella harmonies and energy-packed instrumentals, are our welcome guests in October. It’s been a huge four years for this much-acclaimed and internationally-renowned four-piece. Since their debut CD “Fifty Verses” was released in 2014 the group have developed a new and rich repertoire of traditional songs as well as their own compositions that merge seamlessly into the folk canon. Led by Nancy Kerr, BBC Singer of the year 2015, and her husband James Kerr who last played at The Barn as one half of The James Brothers, the line-up includes singer and fiddle player Jess Arrowsmith and her husband Robb, one of the finest players of traditional dance music.
