• How to maximise use of your planting space
• The importance of seasonal interest.
• The value of shape, texture and colour in plant choices

• Confidence to design your own border having started your design on the course
• Understanding of  the principles of great design
• Choosing the right plant for the right place

The course is suitable for beginners 

People who have some experience of gardening, who wish to create a new garden border or wish to breathe new life into a tired one.

Please bring with you

• Clothing suitable for outdoors – we will use the Tuppenny Barn gardens for inspiration – sturdy footwear, warm layers, waterproofs and sun protection
• Water bottle
• Notebook and pen
• Measurements of any border (ideally with photos) you have in mind to design
