30 June 2018, 7pm
Enjoy an evening discovering 7 English wines with top Sussex wine producer Alison Nightingale of Albourne Estate, West Sussex, and hear what inspired Liz Sagues, Chichester journalist and author, to write her latest book “A Celebration of English Wine”.
Alison Nightingale, the owner and winemaker of Albourne Estate, will lead us through a Tasting of 7 still and sparkling wines, including her recently released Vermouth. Alison will also talk about the process of winemaking, describing how the fruit of the vine finally ends up in a glass.
Liz Sagues’ beautifully presented book is the first consumer oriented account of English wine for a decade. Oz Clarke, the well-known TV wine presenter, describes the book as “a memorable run of virtual visits to the vineyards.” Signed copies of the book will be available at this event.
The rise of English wine is a continuing success story in which Alison – a winner of the UK Wine of the Year Award – and Liz – an acclaimed wine critic and author – are leading personalities.
This evening is being organised by local wine merchant Bush Vines and will raise money to support Tuppenny Barn Education Centre.
Tickets are £16 and are available from https://bushvines.co.uk/events/
