“It’s not easy to be a follower of fashion and socially responsible at the same time, but this fun evening event will make it less of a challenge”.
Join us as we transform Tuppenny Barn into a catwalk and ethical, sustainable fashion boutique for anevening where we will be promoting alternative ways to shop for clothing, including buying pre-loved, vintage, retro and up cycled clothing, as well as buying from highstreet brands, with sustainability at their core.
The compere for the evening will be the fabulous Naomi Thompson, whose love of alternative, thrift and secondhand clothing has led to her prominence as a blogger and writer of three Style Me Vintage books about sourcing and creating vintage looks. Here’s what Naomi has said about the night: “I am delighted to be returning to Tuppenny Barn to host their Ethical fashion at Christmas event. Its my favourite event of the season. Combining fashion, ethical trade and sustainability, and local business in their unique and very hospitable setting makes it a very different kind of fashion event – one with a conscience!”
Guests can browse through the clothing rails, be inspired by ideas to upcycle or even make their own clothing, and sit back and enjoy the catwalk.
Browse the stalls, shop til you drop, be inspired by ideas to upcycle or even make your own clothing and sit back and enjoy our first Tuppenny Catwalk!
Tickets: £10 each includes a welcome glass of wine. Licensed Bar. Raffle prizes on the night, including a pair of Fairtrade Rose Gold Plated Earrings kindly donated by Cred, Chichester.
It’s estimated that each year we consume 80 billion pieces of clothing. Balancing our interest in fashion with conscious consumption, and an awareness of the environmental impacts can guide us towards more sustainable purchasing decisions around clothing.
