This is our first year as part of the National Garden Scheme! We’ve been asked to take part because we are an iconic, organic smallholding used as an outdoor classroom to teach children about the environment, sustainability and healthy food. There are 2½ acres packed with a wildlife pond, an orchard with heritage top fruit varieties, two solar polytunnels, fruit cages, raised vegetables, herbs, and a cut flower garden. Our willow provides natural arches and wind breaks, while the bug hotel and beehives support vital pollinators.
There will be plenty of activities, apple education and talks. And the Soft Fruit season will be in full swing if you’d like to take part in the PYO. Our ever-popular Cream Tea tent will be serving up homemade scones and cakes.
