Julia is a lawyer and qualified as a barrister while working in the magistrates courts service (now part of the wider civil service).  Julia was a legal adviser in the court in Portsmouth and then moved to Bedfordshire where she became Deputy Justices Clerk and stayed there until 2017.  After leaving work Julia returned to this area and has lived in Emsworth and now more permanently in Southbourne. In December 2019, she was asked by Maggie to be the volunteer coordinator at Tuppenny Barn. The volunteers are vital to the running of Tuppenny and it is fair to say that without them the charity could not continue to exist.
