March in the Outdoor Classroom

What have the Education Team been up to this March in the outdoor classroom?

Our groups this month have enjoyed looking for signs of spring in between lots of rain! There have been plenty of muddy boots and dashing into the polytunnels to shelter as well as to taste our delicious crops.

The Poppy Group have had their second session in the block and all arrived ready to get fully involved with cooking pizza rolls, planting and creating herby fairies. The Sunflower Group have had a go at making Welshcakes, adding lemon thyme for a unique Tuppenny flavour.

School groups have covered a wide range of ages from 15 year olds to 4 year olds.  A group of Year 10s from Farnborough Hill school enjoyed creating and tasting a range of seasonal bruschetta toppings. Bosham Primary school‘s Reception class made cheesy spinach muffins, planted lettuce seedling (sown by the Social Therapeutic Horticulture group- thank you!) and learnt all about our bees.

Our Education Team delivers tailor made workshops for students of all ages and abilities, led by our experienced education officers and closely linked to the national curriculum, and guided by the seasons.
